Salesforce Connection

Integrating Salesforce with Drata streamlines the management of customer data and sales opportunities, reducing manual effort and minimizing errors.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure access to your Salesforce account.

  • Copy you have your Salesforce custom domain. You will need this in order to connect to Drata.

    1. To retrieve your custom domain, log into Salesforce with your account username and password. Once logged in, navigate to the URL in your browser's address bar. The first sections of the URL represent your custom domain, which will follow this format:
      https://your_custom_domain.lightning.force.com/lightning/page/home.

    2. Copy your custom domain.

Enable Salesforce

  1. Select Connections on the side navigation menu.

  2. Select the Available connections tab, search for Salesforce, and select Connect.

    • Ensure the correct connection type is selected. Salesforce is listed under both Customer Relationship Management and User Access Review.

  3. In the connection drawer, enter your Salesforce custom domain and connect. If not already logged in, you will be redirected to Salesforce to do so.

Enable Multi-Factor Authentication for Salesforce

Note: You must enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to view MFA data on the Drata platform.

  1. Access your Salesforce account.

  2. Navigate and select Setup in the top-right corner.

  3. In the Setup Home page, under Administration, select Users and then Profiles. You can also type "Profiles" in the Quick Find search box.

  4. Locate for the user's profile who created the Salesforce connection within Drata and select Edit under the Action column.

  5. Go to General User Permissions section and look for the permission named Manage Multi-Factor Authentication in API. It has to be enabled to get the MFA data from the API.

  6. Under the General User Permissions section, enable the Manage Multi-Factor Authentication in API permission. This allows MFA data to be retrieved through the API.
