HERE'S WHY

For Drata agent versions, v2.0.0 and above, employees will experience an updated authentication experience and improved auto-update capabilities. Updating to v2.0.0 and above ensures the best possible performance from the Drata Agent.

NOTE: Drata agent auto updates are supported for Linux devices as of v3.5 and earlier. If you installed the Drata Agent on an Ubuntu system, Ubuntu operating systems will automatically update the agent to the latest version, starting with version 3.6. All the updates are required. An update notification informs you that an update is available and requests your permission to proceed with the update.

HERE'S HOW

For employees running earlier versions of the Drata Agent (ex. v1.2.1), they will need to install and register the latest version.

For employees running any version of the agent earlier than v2.0.0:

STEP 1: Quit the Drata Agent

  1. Click the Drata icon in the taskbar

  2. Select 'Quit Drata'

STEP 2: Download the latest version

  1. Log into Drata

  2. Go to ‘Install the Drata Agent’ on the 'My Drata' page

  3. Select your operating system to download and install the agent

  5. Click 'Register Drata Agent'

IMPORTANT NOTE: Open the Agent before clicking the 'Register Drata Agent' button

  2. Click ‘Register Drata Agent’

  3. Check your inbox for the ‘Verify Drata Agent’ email

For employees with version 2.0.0 or later installed:
