Tableau Connection

Integrating Tableau with Drata automates your user access reviews, saving time and reducing errors by syncing user data directly from Tableau.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure you have Site Administrator Creator privileges for your Tableau account.

  • Copy your Tableau Server URL and Content URL. You will need this to connect Tableau to Drata.

    1. Your Server URL and Content URL are found in the URL when you login.

      • Example URL: https://prod-uk-a.online.tableau.com/#/site/devb73211b483/users

      • Server URL: https://prod-uk-a.online.tableau.com

      • Content URL: devb73211b483

  • Create your Tableau Personal Access Token. You will need the token name and secret to connect Tableau to Drata.

    1. When logged in to your Tableau Cloud account, select your profile icon in the top right, then My Account Settings.

    2. In the Settings tab, scroll down to Personal Access Tokens. Enter a name for your token and create.

    3. Copy your token name and secret and store them safely.

    4. Select Done.

Enable Tableau

  1. Select Connections on the side navigation menu.

  2. Select the Available connections tab, search for Tableau, and select Connect.

  3. Follow the instructions on the connection drawer.

    • After you select connect to Tableau, on the popup modal, enter the required fields with the values that you obtained from the previous section.
