The steps to manage vendor suggestions depend on your interface version. Select a link to skip to the instructions for your version.
Customers who joined Drata on or after Feb 24, 2026 are automatically on the New Experience.

Vendor suggestions helps you identify vendors automatically based on the connections you've set up in Drata and the applications configured in your Okta SSO. This reduces manual entry and helps ensure your vendor inventory is complete.
Suggested vendors can be reviewed and added to Current vendors in a few clicks.

To receive suggestions from Okta:
Okta SSO must be configured
Access reviews must be enabled
If Okta or Access Reviews are not enabled, Okta applications are not suggested.
How vendor suggestions work
Vendor suggestions are generated from:
Active connections in Connections
Applications discovered through Okta SSO
Suggestions appear as vendor names only. After adding a suggested vendor, you must complete the remaining vendor details.
Add vendors for the first time
If no vendors exist yet:
Select Vendors from the left navigation.
On the Get started page, select Get started.
Review the suggested vendors based on your connections and Okta applications.
Select the vendors you want to add.
Continue to add them to Current vendors.
If Okta or Access Reviews are not enabled, Okta applications are not included in suggestions.
Add additional vendors using suggestions
If you already have vendors in your directory:
Select Vendors → Current vendors.
Review suggested vendors displayed at the top of the page.
Select Review suggestions.
In the modal:
Select Add to add a vendor
Select Ignore to permanently dismiss the suggestion
Ignored vendors are not suggested again.
Verify added vendors
After adding vendors through suggestions:
You are returned to Current vendors
Newly added vendors are highlighted temporarily
The highlight disappears after refreshing the page
Only the vendor name is added automatically.
After adding vendor suggestions, review the vendor details to ensure everything is accurate. From there, you can assign an owner, begin the vendor security review or risk assessment process, and continue monitoring the vendor's compliance status as part of your ongoing security program.
Disable vendor suggestions
To turn off vendor suggestions:
Select Vendors → Vendor settings.
Toggle Single sign-on suggestions off.
Instructions for the Classic Experience ⬇️
Vendor suggestions proposes different vendors for you to add on the Vendors page. The suggestions are based on the connections you made on the Connections page or the applications on your Okta SSO. Save time by adding the suggested vendor through Vendor suggestions.

To have applications on your Okta SSO suggested:
Ensure you have Okta SSO configured.
Enable Okta connection.
To learn more, go to Connecting Okta to Drata.
Enable Access reviews.
To learn more, go to Access Reviews.
Add vendors for the first time
For personnel who have not added a Vendor into their Vendor Directory, a "Get Started" page is displayed when you select Vendors on the left navigation menu bar.
Select "Get Started" to have vendors suggested for you based on the connections you made on the Connections page or the applications on your Okta SSO. If you do not have Okta connection or enabled Access Reviews, vendors will not suggest Okta SSO applications.
Select the desired applications you would like to add to your Vendor Directory and continue.
Add additional vendors
For personnel who already have vendors added on their Vendors page, you can enable Vendor Suggestions in the Settings tab on the Vendors page.
The vendors suggested for you are based on the connections you made on the Connections page or the applications on your Okta SSO. If you do not have Okta connection or enabled Access Reviews, vendors will not suggest Okta SSO applications.
The suggestions will appear on the top of the Vendors page. Select Review suggestions.
In the modal, you can add or ignore any suggested vendors.
Select "Add" to add vendors in the directory.
Select "Ignore", to delete the vendors. Ignored vendors will not be suggested again.
Verify if vendors have been successfully added
Once Drata has added your vendors, you are redirected to the Vendor Directory page.
The temporary blue lines indicate the vendors added through Vendors Suggestions. The blue lines disappear after you refresh the page.
When adding vendors through Vendors suggestions, the vendor name is the only detail that is added. Select the vendor to add the rest of the details.
Disable vendor suggestions
To disable vendor suggestions, go to the Vendors page and select the Settings tab. Toggle off the Vendor Suggestions.
