Drata inspects your company computers to determine if each is running an antivirus software.

Updated today

ASSOCIATED DRATA CONTROL

This test is part of the Malware Detection Software Installed control that ensures all company-issued computers and workstations require antivirus software to be installed to protect the network against malware.

WHAT TO DO IF A TEST FAILS

If Drata finds computers or workstations that do not have antivirus software installed, the test will fail. With a failed test you will receive a list of computers/workstations that do not have antivirus installed.

To remediate a failed test, you will need to advise the owners of these computers/workstations to install an antivirus that adheres to your Code of Conduct.

Devices may demonstrate proper antivirus software installation in the following ways:

  • If using the Drata agent:

  • If using an MDM integration:

    • Installing a supported third-party application will be recognized as passing on any operating system

    • If a required antivirus policy exists, is mapped to the device, and the device is compliant with that policy, that will be recognized as passing

    • On Windows devices, the use of Windows Defender will also be recognized as passing

    • On Mac Devices, if the operating system is 10.16 or higher, that will be recognized as passing

STEPS TO REMEDIATE

To remediate a failed test, you will need to advise these employees to enable the antivirus settings that adhere to your Code of Conduct.
