Customers who joined Drata on or after Feb 24, 2026 are automatically on the New Experience.
Instructions for the New Experience ⬇️
You can manage tests individually or in bulk from the Monitoring table. Bulk actions save time by letting you apply updates to several tests at once.
Tests run automatically on a regular schedule. You can also run tests whenever you'd like.
Manage multiple tests (bulk actions)
To apply an action to more than one test:
Select one or more tests using the checkboxes in the Monitoring table.
Choose one of the following actions.
Test now: Runs all selected tests immediately. Results typically appear within a few minutes.
Enable tests: Turns on the selected tests so they run daily with Autopilot or can be run on demand.
If a test is mapped to a control, its results contribute to control readiness.
Enabling a test does not change historical results; it only affects future runs.
Disable tests: Turns off the selected tests.
Disabled tests do not run or contribute to readiness until re-enabled.
You must provide a business rationale when disabling a test. This rationale remains visible in Monitoring for audit transparency.
Disabled tests can be re-enabled at any time, and readiness is recalculated once they are active again.
Publish tests: Applies to custom draft tests.
Draft tests can exist in two states:
Published version: The version Autopilot runs.
Draft version: The editable version.
When you publish a draft, the next Autopilot run automatically uses the updated version.
Export tests to CSV: Downloads a CSV file with details for the selected tests, including Name, Description, Status, Result, Category, and mapped Control ID.
The export respects your current selections and filters.
Manage a single test from the Monitoring table
You can also manage an individual test directly from the Monitoring table.
Select the ellipsis (⋯) on a test row to run the test.
Each test in the Monitoring table includes an Enable/Disable toggle that lets you manage the test directly from the row.
This allows you to quickly take action on a single test without selecting multiple rows.
Manage a single test from the test details page
For more detailed management, open a test's details page.
Select a test name in the Monitoring table.
From the test details page, select Test now to run the test.
Additional actions are available depending on the test type and configuration.
Managing tests from the details page is useful when you need to review test information, results, or mappings before taking action.
Instructions for the Classic Experience ⬇️
Note: This is the new experience for customers onboarded on and after July 2, 2025, or for those who opted into Early Access.
View Test Details
On the Monitoring page, select a test to view its details. The updated experience includes several key changes:
Header with test information: View the test name, latest result, and last run date.
Action buttons: Run the test, view evidence, and publish or delete custom tests.
Labels for new or draft tests: View a clear label next to the name for new tests or custom drafts.
Overview Tab
The Overview tab shows a high-level summary of your test with organized sections.
Next steps
The Next steps section guides you on how to act on the test's results.
Track: See how long the test has maintained its current result.
Fix: Review failures and errors to help resolve issues.
Manage: View the number of open tickets linked to the test (requires a ticketing connection).
For custom tests, these details appear only after the test is published.
Test details
The Test details section provides an overview of the test's configuration:
Description: The test summary.
Type: Whether the test is Custom or Drata-provided.
Status: The current state of the test.
For custom tests, you can edit the test name and description.
Latest result
View the latest result of the test, along with a description of any failures or errors.
Select an event to view details, including raw JSON data.
Supported connections
Displays the connections set up by the customer that are relevant to this test. This section only appears for tests that monitor business systems.
Connected external systems appear with a "Connected" label.
External systems that are not connected appear under the Unused connections section.
For custom tests, connection details are hidden because the test logic determines the connection. The Test logic section shows which connection the test uses.
Historical results
View the monthly summary of how many times the test passed, failed, or returned errors. Download results or view all test events.
Test logic
Note: The Test logic section is only available for custom tests.
View or edit the logic for custom tests.
Findings tab
The Findings tab shows all failing items identified by the test. You can also exclude individual findings from future assessments and results. Depending on the test results, the table displays relevant columns and information.
When are findings shown?
Findings only appear if the test detects items that cause it to fail.
If a test passes, there are no failing items to show, so you won't see any findings.
If the test errors out and can't be completed, it won't show any findings because it couldn't fully check everything.
The following screenshot shows findings of a test:
Download Findings
You can download findings directly from the Findings tab.
The Download Findings button appears at the top of the table.
Available for all test categories except In Drata and Policy.
When you download, Drata generates a Findings Zip file that includes:
Remediation guide (PDF)
Findings metadata (CSV)
To download findings:
Open the Findings tab for the test.
Select Download Findings at the top of the table.
Save the Findings Zip file.
⚠️ Note: You cannot download findings while the test is running.
Exclusions tab
The Exclusions tab lists items excluded from the test assessment and results. You can re-include excluded items if needed.
The table displays different columns depending on test results.
These columns always appear:
Excluded by: The person who excluded the item.
Date excluded: When the exclusion was made.
Reason: The reason for the exclusion.
Exclusions marked as "N/A" no longer apply to current findings because the related resource is not part of the current results.
You can download exclusions directly from the Exclusions tab.
The Download Exclusions button appears at the top of the table.
Available for all test categories except In Drata and Policy.
When you download, Drata generates an Exclusions metadata CSV.
To download exclusions:
Open the Exclusions tab for the test.
Select Download Exclusions at the top of the table.
Save the Exclusions CSV file.
To manage exclusions:
Select the exclusions.
Select More actions > Include/Remove.
History Tab
The History tab lists all test events, sorted by default with the most recent test result first.
Previously, the "Last result > Test events" table was located in the Overview tab; it has now been moved to the History tab for improved clarity and organization.
Select a connection to view its result details. The Test event panel will display detailed information for the selected event.
Controls tab
The Controls tab lists all controls mapped to the test. You can map or unmap controls here.
Select View details to access more information about a control and the items contributing to readiness, such as evidence, policies, approvals, or other mapped tests.
Manage internal notes, tasks, and tickets
The Monitoring page includes a right-hand navigation panel where you can manage internal notes, tasks, and tickets.
